Stay Awake, Be Ready—Our Advent Wreath!

Have I mentioned everything in our house is broken? Poor Joseph from our nativity scene (made by my husband as a child in 4H class) has been superglued multiple times!

We don’t have many safe places to put breakables in our house, so I usually put anything special on the windowsill above our kitchen sink. I have enjoyed gazing at our Advent candles this year every time I do dishes—which is a lot!

This week, the 4th week of Advent, Mother Mary and Joseph still wait for baby Jesus to come. I am reminded of the Alleluia that my kids sing at school mass, which is sung right before we stand to listen to the gospel reading~

Stay awake! (clap, clap)

Be ready! (clap, clap)

You do not know the hour when the Lord is coming,

Stay awake! (clap, clap)

Be ready! (clap, clap)

The Lord is coming soon.

Alleluia, Alleluia,

The Lord is coming soon!

Excitedly waiting for the Lord this Christmas season, the only superglue that can fix my brokenness. Have a wonderful, busy-yet-relaxing, Merry Christmas!

  1. Hi Jaime! Thank you for stopping by and commenting on my Advent wreath! I love yours too and am thankful that other mamas know the struggle is real when it comes to keeping an Advent wreath (or anything really) in working order in a home full of kids! 🙂

    • Oh, I do understand! Everything is broken at my house. I think God had to give me so many kids because I used to be such a “thing” person. Your Advent wreath with broken candles made me giggle. Merry Christmas!
