Following God’s Path

Recently, my family had a last minute outing at the park.  It was a relaxing spring day (smack dab in the middle of an exhausting couple of weeks) to spend with family.

These peaceful, tranquil pictures don’t accurately portray what was happening.  At least one kiddo was tired and complaining about walking for so long.  Another little one ran so fast we could barely keep up with him.  Others wanted to take a longer walking trail, but the stroller couldn’t navigate it.  Kids picked up walking sticks, turning them into imaginary swords.  We admired wildflowers and birds, talked and laughed, and just enjoyed each other and God’s creation!

I silently thanked God for leading my family, and this scripture came to mind:

path4

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

path1

 On your own intelligence rely not;

path3

In all your ways be mindful of him,

path2

and he will make straight your paths.  Proverbs 3:5-6

I am no different than my kids.  Sometimes life makes me tired, sometimes I am whiny and thirsty, yet other times I race ahead with plenty of energy.  Many times I have trouble navigating life, and often I have to pick up a big stick and fight my demons.  Thank you Lord, for reminding me that the path I travel is Yours.
