I Sleep Less Than An Orca Whale….

This morning, as I stumbled around my kitchen in a sleep-deprived haze, I had an interesting conversation with my 5th grader.  He asked me if I was OK, and I told him I just needed more sleep and to brush my hair—I had serious bed head going on!

My little guy Drake joked with me that orca whales only need 2-3 hours of sleep a day.  Right then and there, I realized I have been living on less sleep than an orca whale for far too long!  Since I don’t see extra sleep in my future for a long time, I am turning to scripture for strength.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Matthew 11:28

They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength, they will soar as with eagles’ wings; They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint.  Isiah 41:31

Only in God is my soul at rest; from him comes my salvation.  Psalm 62:2
